Business Associate Agreement

Information about our BAA for covered entities and business associates.

What is a BAA?

A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is a written contract between a HIPAA-covered entity and a business associate. It establishes the permitted and required uses and disclosures of protected health information (PHI) by the business associate.

As a service provider that handles PHI on behalf of healthcare organizations, Dr SignOut acts as a business associate and enters into BAAs with all covered entity customers.

Our BAA Includes

  • Permitted uses and disclosures of PHI
  • Safeguards to prevent unauthorized use or disclosure
  • Breach notification requirements and procedures
  • Subcontractor compliance requirements
  • Data return or destruction upon termination
  • Audit and compliance reporting obligations
